Construction Along Mosquito Creek
Awesome weather for a bike ride today. Was about 70 deg a little before noon when I headed out from the Wabash Trace Trailhead. Destination was the Western Historic Trails Center.
Had a little problem getting the computer running right. Took some adjustment of the pick-up on the fork.
The last time I rode the Lake Manawa Trail, there was some construction along Mosquito Creek. They have been building a couple of bypassed. Not sure if they are for work on the levee or storm sewer.
Last year, when they had to work on the levee, They detoured the bike trail down to normal ground level and covered it with very coarse rock. This time, the trail level is being maintained at levee height. And, its being PAVED!
Nothing else noted along the ride to the Trails Center. Visited with the folks there. I had not been there for a while. July I was riding at sunrise. The Center is closed Monday and Tuesday.
Good visit, great ride, awesome weather.

"Swanson" Mayhem Psycowpath Race
Yesterday was the last race for the Psycowpath MtB Series. The weather was great - sunny, in the 70s, just a light breeze.
The race was originally scheduled for Lake Manawa State Park, but due to the floods a year ago, there trails were not in racing condition. Psycowpath officials decided to move the race to Swanson Park.
Large field of riders in the Marathon category. The photo here is of the Marathon field heading out for their 4+ hour race. Yesterday was the first time "fat bikes" raced as a category.
I took about 600 photos at the race. They are available at: http://win-photo.photoreflect.com Photos posted on that web site are "proofs". They are camera JPG files without touch-up. When photos are ordered, I will process the files from the original RAW file and do what "magic" that I can on the photo. Files are then sent to the customer.
Awards banquet has been scheduled. Mark your calendar - September 15th at Platte River State Park.

Another Sunrise Ride
Really getting tired of the heat here this summer. Not getting out to ride as much. When I do ride, it has to be at or about sunrise.
Yesterday was another of my sunrise rides to and around Lake Manawa. Caught sunrise just after crossing the road to the power plant.
When riding at sunrise, had to keep checking the mirror to catch the right image.
